Reply to new sales leads within one hour
Updated: Oct 11

Speed is the cheapest sales tool that most teams do not use.
The study. Researchers sent web leads to 2,241 US companies and measured how fast each company replied. They also used data on millions of sales calls.
The finding. Only 37% of companies replied within an hour. The average reply came after 42 hours. Companies that replied within an hour were nearly seven times as likely to qualify the lead as companies that replied one hour later.
Why it matters. A web lead is most interested at the moment it writes. After some hours, the person is busy with other things or talks to a competitor. Many companies lose these leads only because they are slow.
The takeaway. Set a goal to reply to every web lead within one hour. Use alerts and a clear owner for each lead.
