"Books"
you probably never read...

Of the 00 non-fiction business books published every year many re-cycle common  sense, conventional wisdom embroidered with the lingua franca of academe –or impractical advice. These listed, either the authors or his choice for realistic counsel, will save your eyes and your patience by getting right to the point.

“How To Get Along with the Press—and Why”

Most of the books on this subject are either naïve, or intimidatingly Encyclopedic. Enter the exception. Originally written for freshman Senators and Congressmen (and women) attending Republican bootcamps, it is hands-on and practical. Dip into it at breakfast and before your coffee cools your street smart media savvy will have risen exponentially. Sample chapters: “Facts vs. Perceptions”, “The Interview: How to survive and benefit” “When Your Ox Is Being Gored,” give you an idea of the no nonsense writing.

“Getting America Right “

Edwin J. Feulner and Doug Wilson, Crown Forum

Yes, as President of the Heritage Foundation, lead writer Feulner is a Conservative but don’t let that discount to sheer logic –and clarity— of this analysis of why America  seems to have lost its way. Unlike the punditry offered daily on the subject, Feulner and his partner examine every government action through a unique prism of six questions:

Is it the government’s business?

Is it responsible?

Does the measure promote self-reliance?

Does it make us more prosperous?

Does it make us safer?

Does it unify us?

Whatever your political preference these are immutable , pivotal questions, the answers, of course, shaded by individual bias. PR executives, for themselves and on behalf of the senior executives they serve as wordsmiths will find the analyses practical benchmarks for framing their own philosophies.
